December 23, 2016Cardiac arrhythmias are characterized by changes in the heart’s normal rhythm or regularity.
Thus, cardiac arrhythmias include any abnormality or disturbance in the normal sequence of myocardial activation.
Cardiac arrhythmias are often harmless. Most people have occasional irregular heartbeat. A fast heart rate when the heart beats faster than normal is called tachycardia (100 beats / minute). Tachycardia is usually accompanied by symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, headache, dizziness.
When the heart beats at a pace slow is called bradycardia (less than 60 beats / minute). Bradycardia is often accompanied by low blood pressure and this can cause symptoms such as fatigue, dyspnea (difficulty breathing), dizziness or fainting.
