CPR Demonstration (BLS)

Basic life support (Basic Life Support – BLS) is defined as a set of measures resuscitation performed on a patient in cardiopulmonary arrest, without using specific equipment. Resuscitation are external chest compressions and artificial ventilation, which must be made by the witness to the event.

The actions are intended to provide major organs (brain, and heart) a minimum flow of blood, allowing their survival to restore spontaneous circulation. These maneuvers are effective only if they start very quickly after the onset of cardiac arrest in the first 4-5 minutes, when the brain is still viable and if continued until the arrival of specialized medical aid. Hence the importance of assimilating these theoretical concepts and practical products to the public that can be secured for basic life support by any witness, whatever his profession.
